China is facing a huge problem with making a semiconductor, specifically a logic semiconductor. Foundries that we call as making semiconductors for the fabless need very high-end tech equipments to run a business. Actually, China think semiconductor is not only for a business but also for necessary industry for their future. As you know, semiconductors are used in a lot of industries, such as an aerospace, AI, datacenter and even my refridge.
But, the thing is that the US doesn’t allow China to have equipments for making semeconductors. Then, you might think China can make it by themselves because they are a big country enough to make everything. Even if they make almost eveything, it doesn’t work in the semiconductor industry. For example, etching and deposition equipments are made from the US and Japan. And parts of those equipments are made by Netherland and Germany. I can’t bring all countries up right here, but it is sure that a country can’t make it alone.
China won’t give up having the semiconductor made only by their hand. For Korea, it is very fortunate that China can’t come in semiconductor industry which would have given Korea hard competition like a secondary battery.

China is determined to make its own semiconductors, but it's facing an uphill battle. For Korea, it's fortunate that China can't enter the semiconductor industry, which would have given Korea tough competition, like it has in the secondary battery industry.
