Winery could make a senergy with Emart?

You know, those big supermarket giants in Korea, like Emart and Lotte Mart, have started snatching up wineries that are known for making wine. Sure, they've got their own stores where more than 70% of the folks shop, so they figure they can sell wine there.

But here's the kicker, they paid even more than what these wineries are really worth. I mean, businesses are supposed to make a profit, right? They kinda just went ahead and grabbed these fancy wineries without a clue about how to turn a profit with them.

The real problem is that these wineries they splurged on produce crazy-expensive wine. Now, let's think about it in terms of their regular grocery store business. People who hit up a supermarket aren't expecting to stumble upon luxury items, you know what I mean? Supermarkets should stick to being supermarkets. The super-rich folks who can drop big bucks on pricey wine? Well, they're not usually doing their shopping at the local grocery store. So, in my book, these wineries making expensive wine and teaming up with supermarkets ain't gonna make a huge splash in the Food and Beverage(F&B) industry.

Oh, and get this - the Emart owner got a thing for baseball and decided to buy a baseball team. While his main gig, Emart, has been having a tough time, his new baseball team managed to score a win in a competition. Now, is it really a smart move to do better in a whole different business that's not even related to your main one? I'm not so sure about that.
