The Korean Wave and the Beauty Business: A CEO's Perspective

OEM/ODM

Hey there! I'm the CEO of 잉글우드랩, and we're all about cosmetics here in the U.S. Now, here's the twist - most of our team members are Koreans. Yep, you got it right. Koreans are a big part of our crew, even though we've got some Americans in the mix too. But, here's the exciting part : I believe Korean cosmetics are going to shake things up in a big way.

You've probably dabbled in some Korean dramas, movies, or K-pop tunes, right? Well, if you take a peek at Netflix or the Billboard charts, you'll see that the Korean wave is making waves worldwide.

So, I've brought together a bunch of taleneted Koreans to work with us. People often label our business as OEM and ODM. OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturing, while ODM stands for Original Development Manufacturing. Now, cosmetic companies don't actually sell cosmetcis ourselves. Our gig is making cosmetics based on the orders we get from our clients. You see, these days, a lot of cosmetic companies have ditched the idea of having their own production facilities. It's a real wallet-drainer to maintain those places - you've got to cover labor costs, factory upkeep, uilities, and more. So, many of the big cosmetic players have shifted their focus solely to marketing. They just design their products and pass the production baton to OEMs and ODMs like us.

Our superpower? Well, it's making sure we never drop the ball on delivering their products on time. Like I mentioned, they're all about marketing game, hyping up their latest "amazing moisturizer coming soon!" Imagine the chaos if they couldn't get their hands on their cosmetics from us when they promised their customers. It's a scenario that's hard to even think about. So, being punctual with deliveries is absolutely crucial. And, of course, top-notch quality is non-negotiable too.

Hello, I'm a CEO of 잉글우드랩. We manufacture cosmetics in the U.S. Here is the interesting part - most of us are Koreans. You're right. Koreans are working in my company in the U.S. Of course, we have americans, either. But, my thoughts are Korean cosmetics would be the game-changer here. You must've watched some Korean dramas, movies or listened to K-pop. You can check in Netflix and Biliboard chart that Korean wave is spreading over.

So, I've gathered Koreans to work for my business. People call my business OEM, ODM. OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturing. ODM stands for Original Development Manufacturing. We do not sell cosmetics. We just make cosmetics our customers order. You know, these days, cosmetics companies do not have any facilities to make it. It costs a lot to keep those facilites. You should keep paying for labours, factories, uilities and more. So, legacy cosmetics've turned their strategy to only focus on marketing. They just order cosmetic they design to OEM, ODM like us.

Our critical competence is not to deliver their products late. Like I said, they've paid attention to their marketing. In marketing, they're like "Our awesome moisture cream is coming soon!". In this hell serious situation, what if they can't get their cosmetics from us? I can't really even imagine it. So, delivering their products in time is really important. Of course, the qualities is critical, either.
